The Two Me

Recreating the western painting “The Two Fridas” by Frida Kahlo.

The original painting shows two sides of herself. The left Frida is herself of having a Jewish Mexican background, and on the right shows the Mexican side of her which her husband Diego loved. On the other hand left Frida which her husband didn't like is actually her actual identity with European background which you can see her wearing the Victorian dress. So she portraits her left side being dead inside by the vain of the heart being cut by herself. The blood vain connecting the two hearts represent the psychhological unity of the two "ME's".

Inspired of her art work, I added the modern issues while recreating the paintings. Expressing masking personalities in modern society.
The right hand side "ME" is the "masking" personalities to match society or you could say a false identity to be liked by others. You can see that the left "Me" is being dead inside since they are hiding their actual personalities to fit in to the modern society so that other people would like you.

フリーダ・カーロ作「二人のフリーダ」（The Two Fridas)の現代風写真再現。左のMeは、本来の姿をさらけ出すことができずに苦しむ本当の自分で、反対に右のMeは周りを気にするあまり作り上げた偽りの自分を表現した作品。二人のMeの心臓を繋ぐ血管は、二人の私は心理一体である事を表している。
